It has been announced by BT that from the 18th of August 2009, everyday 20000 setup boxes will be upgraded. The new software is specially designed with automated functions like Standby, channels search, etc.
As BT bids itself as a carbon neutral and has taken a stand to reduce the consumption of power, noise and heat. The new software for the setup boxes will take acre of all the above intentions of BT. Earlier the setup box automatically turned to Standby when left inactive for 24 hours, where as now the setup box will go on standby if kept inactive for 8 hours. This will surely help the power saving purpose of BT.
Another salient feature of this new software is its auto tuning feature. The setup box will automatically run the auto tuning once a day if the setup box is left on standby for 30 minutes. This will keep you upgraded with the latest free view channels from all across the globe.
Once the setup box is upgraded with the new software the recording system of the setup box is also revised and the scheduled recording of your favourite shows starts 2 minutes prior the actual show time and the recording will end 5 minutes after the show ends. This will give you the complete telecast of your favourite show, not missing even a bit of action form it. The new software will also help assist you to adjust and line-up your recordings more efficiently and systematically.
This is surely like a new revolution which has been stared by BT in the digital TV world, providing its customers with the best quality of service.
